Lola Marceli (born 1967) is a Spanish actress. She earned early public recognition in the 1990s for her performance as Mercedes in El súper.[1]
Biography
Born in Alicante in 1967,[2] she was raised in between Alicante and Málaga.[3] She trained at the Málaga's Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático (ESAD).[4] Cast in 1996 in the soap opera El súper, her breakout performance as a self-sacrificing wife deceived by her husband consolidated her career.[5] Her performance as a fiery Spanish woman scorned by her husband in the 2001 Australian comedy-drama film La Spagnola earned Marceli a nomination to the AFI Award for Best Leading Actress.[6] She landed subsequent main cast roles in Hospital Central, Un chupete para ella, Amar es para siempre, Padres,[5] SMS (as a lawyer and the mother of Paula, the character played by Amaia Salamanca),[7] Bandolera, Víctor Ros,[5] and Mercado central.[8]
