Mecistocephalus subgigas is a species of centipede in the Mecistocephalidae family. It was described in 1919 by Italian myriapodologist Filippo Silvestri.[1][2] This species has 49 pairs of legs and can reach 60 mm in length.[3]

Distribution

The species occurs in New Guinea. The type locality is Simbang, Sattelberg, Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea.[2]
