Mehdi Fard Ghaderi (Persian: مهدی فرد قادری ; born 1986) is an Iranian Film director, screenwriter and producer.

Early life

Mehdi Fard Ghaderi was born in 1986 in Nishapur, Iran.[1]

Career

In 2007 he started to write scripts and directing short films. After ten years he wrote and directed eight short films.

Immortality (2016), his first feature film, was created in a single shot in 145 minutes on a train. This film was nominated for best film at the Rome Film Festival, Munich Film Festival and Transilvania International Film Festival.[2] Immortality won several international prizes, including Best Film at the 16th Ischia Film Festival,[3][4] Itscreened at more than thirty international festivals.[5][6]

His second feature film is titled Weightlessness[7] and was made in 2019. It has won some awards at international film festivals.

Mehdi Fard Ghaderi was producer of the film The Son in 2021.[8] This film has won prizes at the Moscow Film Festival,[9][10] and was shown in at the Rotterdam Film Festival and Valladolid Film Festival.

The Annoyed is his third movie as director and producer. The premiere of this film was in main competition 25th Shanghai film festival 2023.[11][12]

Other roles

Ghaderi has been a jury member at several international film festivals, including in Italy, Czech Republic, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Iran.[13][14]
