Meydavud (Persian: ميداود), formerly Meydavud-e Sofla (Persian: ميداودسفلي, also Romanized as Meydāvūd-e Soflá and Meidavood Sofla; also known as Mai Dāūd Pāīn, Meydāvūd-e Pā’īn, and Meydāvūd Pā’īn)[3] is a city in, and the capital of, Meydavud District of Bagh-e Malek County, Khuzestan province, Iran, and also serves as the administrative center for Meydavud Rural District.

At the 2006 census, its population was 2,331 in 468 households, as the village of Meydavud-e Sofla in Meydavud Rural District.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 3,590 people in 855 households,[5] by which time the village had been elevated to the status of a city and its name changed to Meydavud.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 3,513 people in 933 households.[2]
