Mohsin Nawaz is a Pakistani long range F class shooter.[1] He has won various national and international medals.[2] He is the only Pakistani shooter to win 3 gold and 2 silver medals in South Africa F class shooting championship.[3]

Biography

Mohsin Nawaz was born in Faisalabad, Pakistan.[4][5] He has a Bachelor’s degree in Arts. He is also pursuing a Master’s degree in Sports Psychology.[6] Mohsin comes from a family background associated with outdoor activities. He developed his skills at the POF Wah Cantt Shooting Club in Islamabad.[7]

Career

He started his shooting career in 2007 by participating in a national competition, the 27th PARA Army Shooting Championship for 300M and won a bronze medal.[7] He won his first gold and silver medals in 2016 in the 35th PARA Army Shooting Championship in the 300 M and 800 M categories. In August 2018, he won a bronze medal at Parvez Abbasi Open Shooting.[8]

In October 2022, he earned five medals at the Bisley Long Range Shooting Competition which included three gold and two silver medals.[9] He dominated the top three positions for the majority of the competition.[10] His international medal tally now stands at seven, including a gold from the NRA USA 600 meters in 2018.[9]

In April 2023, he became the first Pakistani to record 400 international match shots, securing the NRA USA classification.[4][11] Nawaz achieved this feat at the Rocky Mountain in 2016, Montana and NRA US Nationals events in 2018.[4][12]

In September 2023, he won a silver medal at the European Long Range Shooting Championship.[13][14][15] Mohsin has also reclaimed the 800-yard Bisley National Record with a stellar score of 75.13 V points.[16]
