The New York roll or Cromboloni is a pastry that gained popularity in the 2020s through social media.[1][2] Videos on TikTok that featured the roll gained hundred of thousands of views.[1] It is made from circular croissant dough, and filled with pastry cream and topped with a chocolate ganache.[3] It originated from the United States.[3] It was originally called The Suprême.[4] It can be enhanced with many different flavors such as chocolate, pistachio, and caramel.[4]

It was created in 2022, by the New York establishment Lafayette Grand Café and Bakery and since then it has spread around the globe.[5] It can be found in several cities in France, such as Nantes, Amiens, Strasbourg, and Paris.[5] It is offered in Canada as well in cities like Montreal.[1] In 2023, the pastry would cost between 3 and 5 euros.[5]
