Nicholas Herbig (born November 21, 2001) is an American football linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Wisconsin. He was drafted in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Steelers.

Early years

Herbig is from Kauai, Hawaii.[1] Herbig attended the Saint Louis School in Oahu, Hawaii and committed to play college football at the University of Wisconsin .[2][3]

College career

Herbig started all seven games his true freshman year at Wisconsin in 2020, recording 26 tackles and one sack.[4][5] He returned as a starter in 2021, and had 61 tackles and nine sacks.[6]

After being selected in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, Herbig signed his rookie contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers.[9]

Personal life

His brother, Nate Herbig, played offensive guard for the Stanford Cardinal before signing as an undrafted free agent with the Philadelphia Eagles of the NFL. He currently plays for the Steelers.[10]
