Nkosazana Nolwazi Kimberly Nzama (born 6 October 2001) professionally known as Nkosazana Daughter, is a South African vocalist, singer and songwriter. She gained prominence after releasing her 14-track debut album that featured Master KG, Kabza de Small, DJ Maphorisa, Chronical Deep, Tyler ICU, Major League DJz, Makhadzi, and Young Jonn, among others.[3][4]She appeared on a collaboration "Sofa Silahlane" with Master KG and Lowsheen, released 12 May 2022 which reached number 1 on Apple Local iTunes Charts.[5][6] In April 2022, the music video of 'Dali Nguwe' featuring Master KG reached 3 million views in three weeks.[7][8]In June 2023, her debut studio album got released[9][10][11][12] and charted number 34 on Spotify Top albums,[13] and debuted number 3 in South Africa. She has performed in Malawi,[14] Zimbabwe,[15] Mozambique, United States and several other countries.
Background
Early life
Nzama was born on 6 October, 2001 in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa.[16] She gained prominence after releasing singles "Izitha", "Umama Akekho", "Sbindi Uyabulala" and many more.[6][17][18] She has been featured in hit songs like "Dali Nguwe", and "Ebusuku". She has collaborated with a number of Amapiano artists[3] including Mpura, Heavy K, Kabza De Small,[19] DJ Maphorisa, and Master KG.[5][6][11][20][21][3][15]
Career
Nzama started music journey when she was young. She entered music industry when she worked with DJ Prince Kaybee and Goldmax from Distruction Boyz musical duo.[5][6][11][22]After interacting with DJ Maphorisa and the late Mpura via Instagram, her music career started emerging. During a live interview with TshisaLIVE news company, she said, "Music is the one thing that drove me crazy. It's always been there for as long as I remember. I never thought it would be amapiano, and I feel like that's where I actually found myself. It's all timing. I finally found something that vibes with my voice. I can say amapiano helped me find my voice."[5] Besides music, she has also collaborated with Luxe Homme,[23] a South African handmade luxury brand company.[24] She shared the collection branded with the initials ND (short for Nkosazana Daughter) on her Instagram page.[24] Towards the end of June 2023, she was announced as Africa Rising recipient by Apple Music.[2][25][26]
In December 2022, she travelled to Malawi[14] and shared stage with Malawian prominent musician, Lucius Banda, which took place at Lilongwe Golf Club.[14] Other supporting performing artists were Namadingo, Black Missionaries, Billy Kaunda, and others.[14]

Personal life
Nzama is dating musician Sir Trill, who according to ZiMoja in December 2022, the two were reported welcoming a new baby.[30][31] In November 2023, media reported on dating rumors with Master KG.[32]
