Nkwelle-Ezunaka is one of the five towns in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State Nigeria.[1]

Location

Nkwelle Ezunaka is located about 8.5 kilometres Northeast of Onitsha, Anambra State. Moreover, It can be located on the world map between longitude 6.2 degrees North and latitude 6.8 degrees East. Nkwelle Ezunaka is bordered with nine neighbouring towns like Nteje and Umunya by the east, Nsugbe and Umueri by the North, Onitsha and Obosi by the west and Nkpor, Ogidi and Ogbunike by the south.

Ogbunike, Nteje, Awkuzu, Umunya and Nkwelle Ezunaka are in Oyi Local Government Area. However, Obosi, Nkpor and Ogidi are in Idemili North Local Government Area while Nsugbe and Umueri are in Anambra East Local Government Area. Meanwhile, Onitsha is in Onitsha North and South Local Government Areas.

The town consist of five villages (Ifite, Uruebo, Amuche, Ezikwelle and Oze) with lots of clans and hamlets in each village.

Nkwelle-Ezunaka has a vast land rich in farming with its fruits, vegetables and trees known to grow rapidly beyond the usual proportion due to its natural tropical enriched fertile land. Its soil texture has natural flood and erosion defence system. The town is blessed with natural iron stones and rocks buried beneath and above its soil. Forestry, plantations and other agricultural settlements scattered in the town.

Since millennium era, Nkwelle-Ezunaka has become (one of the) fastest developing modern town in the area of industrual and residential construction buildings in Nigeria.

The tourists attraction places in Nkwelle-Ezunaka are Iyi-oji shrine and deity, Osude stream, Nkwo-Bank, Akpaka forest, Mba Farm, Y-Junction, Nkwelle-Junction, Dolis-Hill Hotel. Why waiting to visit?

Ekene Onubuogu and many more are the illustrious sons of Nkwelle-Ezunaka.
