Nnamdi Chife is a Nigerian security analyst,[1] politician[2] and entrepreneur.[3]

Early life and education

Chife was born on 19 June 1981, at the Waterside Hospital in Onitsha, Anambra state, Nigeria, to Chief Donatus Anekwe-Chife and Madam Angelina Anekwe-Chife of Umueze Anam. He attended Stella Maris Nursery School for his pre-school education between 1984 and 1987, and later attended Otumoye Community Primary School between 1987 and 1992. He attended Our Ladys High School between 1992 and 1995, all in Onitsha, Anambra state. He moved from here to attend Command Day Secondary School, Jos,[4] between 1995 and 1998. In 2002, he gained admission to the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, to study political science where he graduated in 2006 with second class upper division. In 2007, he mobilized for the mandatory National Youth Service Corps in Lagos.

Career

During his National Youth Service Corps, Chife worked at Oceanic Bank. He remained in the bank while Ecobank acquired Oceanic bank in 2011.[5][6]

Entrepreneurship

In 2017, Chife left Ecobank Nigeria Ltd and founded Chive GPS.[7] In the event of the massive high yield investment programme scam in Nigeria, the company was responsible for the debt recovery from many of the companies indicted by the Nigeria Police Force.[8][9][10][11] One of the companies went on to deny this allegation of fraud against their CEO[12] In 2024, he was sued by Wale Jana for calling him a scam artist on X.[13]

Political career

He contested the primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the state legislative seat of Anambra West Local Government Area Constituency, Anambra. Chife won the primaries in a landslide in October 2018 but lost in the 2019 general elections[14] to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Mr. Patrick Obalim Udoba who became famous for donating cassava stems to his constituents.[15][16] In 2011, he made a false claim on X about Anambra state government owing 200bn debt which was fact checked.[17]
