Oceana Mackenzie, also known as Oceania Mackenzie,[1] (born 11 July 2002) is an Australian rock climber and competition climber who specializes in competition bouldering
Competition climbing career
Mackenzie started climbing when she was 8 years old.[2] At the age of 15, she began to take part in the IFSC Climbing World Cup. She reached her first IFSC final of a bouldering World Cup in Meiringen in 2019, where she finished sixth. At the 2020 Oceania Championships, she was able to win the combined event and qualify for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.[3]
Mackenzie was ranked nineteenth after the Qualification round at the Tokyo Olympics and therefore did not compete in the finals.[4]
In the qualifying tournament for the 2024 Summer Olympics held in Melbourne in November 2023 she came first, with 199.9 points out of a possible 200, entitling her to compete in Paris.[5]
