Oliver Narbett (born 5 March 1989 in Birmingham, UK) is a British ultrarunner. He currently holds the Guinness World Record for the "Fastest marathon dressed as a Morris dancer (male)".[1] He has completed over 100 marathon distance or greater events[2] [3], traversing a variety of terrains including road, alpine mountain trail, desert, frozen lake, snow-covered mountains, desert mountains, moorland, and fell land.

Career

Narbett is a member of the 100 Marathon Club,[4] a club exists to promote marathon running and to celebrate the achievement of people who run 100 or more marathons. He has participated in several notable races[5] such as:

Oliver has completed a number of World Marathon Challenges , which involve completing a set number of marathons or ultramarathons over a set number of months, such as a year[13]:

  • 12 Marathons in 12 Months
  • 26 Marathons in 52 Weeks
  • 26 Ultramarathons in 52 Weeks

Additionally, he has traversed UK national parks and islands, including the Brecon Beacons[14], the Lake District, [15], the Isle of Anglesey [16] and the Isle of Wight [17].

Achievements

In March 2020, Oliver won the "I Run & I Know Things 2020" timed event ultramarathon, taking first place after covering more distance than other competitors in the allotted time. [18]

In addition to his numerous marathon and ultramarathon completions, Narbett holds the Guinness World Record for the "Fastest marathon dressed as a Morris dancer (male)" with a time of 03:48:28.[19]

Personal Life

Oliver's uncle is former footballer Jon Narbett [20] and his father is the former England football team chef and UK national chef of the year, Roger Narbett.[21] [22] [23]
