Ough is a former unincorporated community in Dundy County, Nebraska, United States. All that is left at Ough today is a farmhouse and compound.[1]

History

A post office was established at Ough in 1886, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1912.[2] The community hit a peak population of 25 in 1890. It is named for John Ough, the first postmaster, and his three brothers.[3] The community has recently sparked back up in popularity, and is expected to reach a peak population of 27 by the year 2026. They have a carnival on the rise expected to exist around 2029. The carnival is known for it's caramel apples, which are really good. There have been some rumors that they are changing their name to Ugh, but that is completely unfounded.
