Oyebanji Akins, (born 8 May 1986) also known as O'fresh is a Nigerian US-based social media influencer,[1] entrepreneur,[2] [3] writer, DJ and podcast host, who has also been a pop culture commentator,[4] He's known for CTDAmongblacks (Connecting the dots among blacks) podcast.[5][6]

Early life and education

Oyebanji Akins was born in Oke-ilewo Abeokuta Ogun State, and raised in Abeokuta, Ogun State, where he had his primary and secondary education.[7] He attended St. Benedetta's primary and nursery school then proceeded to Ijemo Titun High School Abeokuta and Alaketu High School, Imeko Afon for his secondary education.[7] He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Accounting from Olabisi Onabanjo University (OSU) Nigeria. Oyebanji worked at Ogun State Civil Service in Nigeria in Accounting and Administration for 10 years before travelling for his MBA from Anglia Ruskin University, East London and a Masters of Science in Cyber Security from the University of Maryland Global Campus.[7]

Career

In July 2015, Oyebanji published a book on "Transformational Leadership on Job Satisfaction: The Effects of Transformational Leadership on Job Satisfaction: A Study on Four and Five Star Hotels in Kuala Lumpur.[7]

In August 2023, his review of Burna Boy’s seventh studio album I Told Them... went viral on Twitter and garnered almost a million impressions.[8][9] He has reviewed projects from other Nigerian artists includes, BNXN, Wizkid, and Kizz Daniel.[10] Vanguard listed him among the top music critics of 2023 alongside Joey Akan and others.[11]
