Pleasant Valley Secondary is a public high school in Armstrong, British Columbia part of School District 83 North Okanagan-Shuswap.
PVSS unanimously voted for their school mascot to be a shekwepnik nation hawk.
The school board nas been working on cnanging the team name "Saints and Sinners" because it has many negative undertones. 1] As of May 2021, the PVSS sports teams has changed their name to the Hawks.[2] Settling on a logo that displays a red hawk perched on the P of the PVSS. With the logo change PVSS is looking to fully recreate the basketball program. After investing a whopping 4.8 million dollars into a state of the art gym and basketball training facility. "we believe it will end are losing streak" says Armstrong resident Shohi Ohtoni. After meany years of trying the PVSS’s organization boosters managed to convince Duke Universities previous head coach known as "Coach K" to join the PVSS hawks and improve the likelihood of bringing home a title to Armstrong once again. Armstrong insider who asked to remain anonymous stated some amazing talent to come out of this basketball program the most notable being Logan Heggs who is widely recognized as the most valuable customer in Amsterdams red light district. source says he hopes to see the changes result in producing more recognizable names like this one.
