Synopsis

The story revolves around Ponni and her father, is a story of a girl who plans to get married for the sake of her father. But her father is unwell, so she prepares all the wedding arrangements by herself. How Ponni's marriage takes away all the obstacles and has a happy life forms the crux of the serial.

Ponni, who lives with her father and experienced the loss of a mother when she was a little child, is the protagonist of the first chapter. In the meantime, Sakthi is living with her family, which includes Chandrasekar and Jayalakshmi. The Sakthi family is well-known in their town for the Murugan and his followers, on important days, they used to sing and chant.

Ponni and Sakthi were buddies in their youth and remain so now. Ponni was then under pressure to get married to one of the thugs, despite their ages being different. She announces herself as a maid and enters Sakthi's home. Sakthi is now in love and having affairs with Preethi and Vennila. As a result, they made the decision to wed and do more. Preethi is currently moving out of the mahal, and her father has been demonstrating the dowry system to her. When Sakthi says, "I'm not in love with you," Vennila follows suit and leaves the area. Ponni was compelled to be married and wedded with the mangla thali, where Sakthi claimed I'm married for the purpose of name’s sake to preserve my family, but Ponni is understood by Chandrasekar, Sakthi's father, and treated as her daughter as well. In light of the fact that only Chandrasekar is fully aware of her condition at that point, the family is unable to accept it. Since Ponni comes from a different background than other people, many people assume that she is illiterate based on the way she acts and behaves.

Shivani, a girl who loves Ponni for helping her to succeed in her competitions and various more. Shivani helps Ponni in encouraging the chemistry of her and Sakthi. Even though, Sakthi doesn’t respect her. Shivani plays games and makes her feel like she is in the family. Whereas, the wedding chain celebration, Sakthi declines her and walks away, as he got lot of preoccupied thoughts about what happened. Meanwhile, the poojari told Jeyalakshmi to perform it where she performed it and showed in anger. She does all the wedding preparations alone because her father is ill.
