- 1962 – The former Buckfastleigh, Totnes and South Devon Railway, in England, closes.

- 2012 – 8-car 10000 series sets are introduced on Tōkyū Tōyoko Line and Minatomirai Line services in Japan, several months before the planned start of through-running operations.[1]
