Qaleh Ganj (Persian: قلعه گنج, also romanized as Qal‘eh Ganj and Qal‘eh-ye Ganj; also known as Ghal‘eh Ganj, Kalāteh-ye Ganj, Kalāt-i-Ganj, and Moḩammadābād)[3] is a city in the Central District of Qaleh Ganj County, Kerman province, Iran, and serves as both capital of the county and of the district.

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 11,560 in 2,443 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 12,663 people in 3,034 households.[5] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 13,169 people in 3,638 households.[2]

History

Investigation on the history of this city is very difficult and dramatic. It Belongs to the pre-Islamic and Nativity which shows relatives who have been living everywhere in this city. Remains from this civilization show the city is over 5,000 years old. Now people who live in this city are Persians, Balouch, Arabs, Bakhtiari and Afro-Iranians.

Language
