Rayan (Arabic: ريّان or ريان, romanized: rayyān), also spelt Rayyan or Rayaan, is generally a given name of Arabic origin, usually male but sometimes female,[1] meaning "Door Of Heaven”, “Beautifier", "luxuriant" or "plentiful" in Arabic.[2]

This name is different from the Persian name Rayan (Persian: رایان Rāyān [ˈraːjaːn]), also spelled Ryan or Rayaan, which is an Iranian given name of Persian origin. In Persian, it is primarily a male given name that means "smart", "wise" or "thinker".

In Arabic and Islamic tradition, it is the name of one of the gates of Jannah, Al-Rayyan, through which only those who fast a lot would enter on the Day of Resurrection.[3][4][5]
