Regnellites nagashimae is the oldest known fossil belonging to the fern family Marsileaceae. It comes from rocks of the Upper Jurassic or Lower Cretaceous Kiyosu-e Formation of Japan.[1] The fossils include leaves with visible veins, as well as sporocarps.
