Roots of the Rev (Volume One) is the thirteenth album by American psychobilly band The Reverend Horton Heat, released on March 1, 2023 independently. It is often noted for being their first non-Christmas cover album, focusing on covering rockabilly and rock and roll songs from the mid 20th century as a tribute.

Production

The album was mixed in monaural and recording with analog music equipment, such as old tapes and tape delay. Four songs were recorded at Dale Watson's Wat-Sun studio in Memphis, while the rest were recorded at Jim Heath's Fun-Guy Studios in Dallas.[1]

Promotion

On February 21, 2023, Heath announced pre-release orders for 150 autographed copies were set for the following day. Eight days following the announcement, the album was officially released as LP, CD, digital download, and streaming.[1]
