Sangaram Jangid popularly known as S. R. Jangid,is the former[1] Director General of Police police Tamil Nadu.[2][3][4][5][6][7]

President medal

Jangid's contributions to law enforcement were recognized with numerous awards, including the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service. the Indian Police Medal for Distinguished Service.[8][9][10]

Operation Bawaria

Jangid, a fearless and dedicated IPS officer who spearheaded Operation Bawaria, In January 2005, after the murder of AIADMK MLA Sudarsanam from Gummidipoondi, then Tamil Nadu Director General of Police S.R. Jangid took charge of Operation Bawaria, a mission to dismantle the notorious gang. Jangid, accompanied by his dedicated team, meticulously planned the operation, employing advanced tracking techniques and intelligence gathering.[11]

In 2017, H. Vinoth directed Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru, a Tamil film based on S. R. Jangid and this case.[12]
