S Ori 52 is an astronomical object from the Sigma Orionis cluster, in the spectral class L. The object was first observed by Maria Rosa Zapatero Osorio at the W.M. Keck Observatory on Mauna Kea.[1] The object is estimated to have a mass between 2 and 8 times the mass of Jupiter.[2] The exact nature of the object remains debatable, and studies show that it could be a sub-brown dwarf,[1] a rogue planet,[1] or it could simply be an older brown dwarf located in the foreground of the Orionis cluster.[3]
