Samuel Watson is an American professional speed climber and the youngest male climber to win a gold medal at an IFSC Climbing World Cup.[1][2][3]
In 2021, Watson won a silver medal in the Youth B category of the IFSC Climbing World Youth Championships in Voronezh, Russia. In 2022, he won a bronze medal at the Youth A category of the IFSC Climbing World Youth Championships in Dallas, Texas, and won a gold medal at the Edinburgh IFSC World Cup in speed.[4] He also won the US national speed climbing championship in 2022.[5]
Watson is originally from Texas,[5] and resides in Southlake, Texas.[4] He set the current US and Pan American speed climbing records at 5.02 seconds,[6][7] at the 2023 IFSC Climbing World Cup in Seoul, Korea.[8]
