Sargassum natans is a species of Sargassum.[1]
In English the species goes by the common names common gulfweed, narrowleaf gulfweed, or spiny gulfweed.[2]: 126
It occurs in the Sargasso Sea.: 123 It is also pelagic[3] and reproduces by fragmentation.[4]: 65 It along with Sargassum fluitans have been credited with plaguing the Yucatan beach tourism industry.[5] and South Florida.[6]
