Sasson Dayan is a Lebanese-born Brazilian banker and co-founder of Banco Daycoval.
Biography
Sasson was born on April 1, 1940[2] in Lebanon[3] to a Jewish family[4] where he worked at Casa Bancária Salim A. Dayan, a bank founded by his father.[1] In the 1950s, he immigrated to Brazil.[3] In 1958, he and his brother Ibrahim Dayan co-founded the stock brokerage Daycoval DTVM Ltda.[1] In 1970, they founded Valco Corretora de Valores Ltda.[1] In 1989, they received government approval to convert Daycoval DTVM Ltda into Banco Daycoval which specializes in lending to medium size companies.[2][3][1]
His son Carlos Dayan is married to Esther Safra Dayan, daughter of Vicky and Joseph Safra.[5] Per Forbes Magazine as of September 2014, he was worth 1.6 billion Brazilian Reais ($709 million US dollars).[6]

Sasson Dayan, the other Superintendent of the Bank, is 66 years old and a Brazilian citizen. He also started his career at the Casa Bancária Salim A. Dayan in the 1950s. With Ibrahim Dayan he set up Daycoval DTVM Ltda in 1968 and Valco Corretora de Valores Ltda in 1970.

No Brasil, passou a atuar no mercado financeiro em 1968, quando constituiu a Daycoval DTVM Ltda. Em 1970, constituiu, juntamente com seu irmão Ibrahin Dayan, a Valco Corretoras de Valores Mobiliários, que chegou a ter movimentação expressiva em operações na BOVESPA. A Daycoval DTVM Ltda. obteve autorização para operar como banco múltiplo em 1989, quando foi transformada em Banco Daycoval S.A.
