The second inauguration of Manuel L. Quezon as the second president of the Philippines and the first president of the Philippine Commonwealth took place on December 30, 1941 at the Malinta Tunnel in Corregidor. The inauguration marked the beginning of the second term of Quezon as President and Sergio Osmeña as Vice President.[1] The oath of office was administered by Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines José Abad Santos. Corregidor was chosen as the venue of the inauguration and temporary seat of the government in-exile to take refuge from the uninterrupted Japanese bombing raids during the Japanese invasion.[2]
