Shehbaz Speed is a title given to Shehbaz Sharif, the former Chief Minister of Punjab, Pakistan and former Prime Minister of Pakistan. On 19 December 2016, Vice-Minister Zheng Xiaosong of the International Liaison Department of the Chinese Communist Party presented the title to acknowledge his contributions to expediting the progress of projects within the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Subsequently, the term has been employed to characterize the rate of advancement within the CPEC.[1][2]

As the Chief Minister of Punjab, Shehbaz Sharif streamlined development procedures successfully finished projects ahead of schedule, fostered a highly productive collaboration with Chinese companies, addressed bureaucratic obstacles, revitalized the hierarchical structure to overcome challenges, and accomplished numerous noteworthy milestones in the advancement of CPEC, which continue to be commemorated by Chinese officials.[2][3]

During his inaugural address in parliament as the 23rd Prime Minister of Pakistan, he emphatically declared that the rapid pace synonymous with Shahbaz Speed would now be transformed into Pakistan Speed, highlighting the exceptional and unparalleled nature of China–Pakistan relations. He hailed these relations as exemplary and unmatched in their significance.[4]
