Shiva is an Indian animated action television series that premiered on Nickelodeon Sonic and Nickelodeon in 2016. The series is produced by Cosmos-Maya and Viacom18, and is one of the highest-rated children's programs in India.^[2]

Numerous mobile video games based on the series have been released by Indian software companies such as Tangiapps.^[3]

Plot

Shiva is a nine-year-old boy who lives with his grandparents in the fictional city of Vedas in India. As a child hero with supernatural powers, he fights villains who attempt to disrupt life in the city. He assists a local policeman named Laddoo Singh, who wants to catch criminals.

Characters

• Shiva (Nilufar Middeey Khan) is a heroic nine-year-old boy with great strength, bravery, and intelligence. He has a bike that can fly and float on water. He is a good student and lives with his grandparents. Although he is an expert fighter, he never misuses his talents. In addition to his engineering talent, which allows him to make different gadgets, he is also good at cooking. He has three best friends: Aditya, Uday, and Reva.
• Aditya (Aditya Jaiswal), also known as 'Adi', is one of Shiva's friends. He speaks proudly about his bravery but is secretly fearful. He joins Shiva on all his adventures and is loyal to his family and friends. He claims that he is regarded as much of a hero in his village as Shiva is in Vedas City.
• Uday (Sonal Kaushal Bali) is one of Shiva's friends. He gets hungry when scared, and is incredibly strong. In every mystery he faces, he assumes the problems are caused by aliens. He experiences friction with Reva over this presumption.
• Reva (Rupa Bhimani) is one of Shiva's friends. She helps the group in many ways.
• Laddu Singh (Manoj Pandey) is the Police Inspector of Vedas City. While usually honest, he is not very intelligent. In some episodes, he takes credit for advising Shiva after the criminal is caught. Shiva often assists him in performing his duties. He is a source of comic relief, as is his assistant.
• Pedaram is the assistant of Laddu Singh who sometimes thwarts his supervisor's attempts to obtain glory.
• Nanaji (Brij Bhushan Sawhney) is Shiva's nana (maternal grandfather). His main talent is singing Hindustani classical music, much to the chagrin of other characters in the show.
• Nani (Rupa Bhimani) is Shiva's Nani (maternal grandmother). She offers wise guidance to her grandson and often advises him not to fight.
• Swami and his wife are Shiva's family's neighbors.
• Bheem Singh works in Shiva's house. He helps Shiva's family when they are dealing with Laddu Singh.
• Neha is Swami's niece. She is able to crack any secret code, including passwords.
• Cheapy is a robot.
• King GoGo is the king of Xtreme City.
