High school

Allred attended Shenandoah High School in Middletown, Indiana. In 2017, Allred had a 42–1 record on the junior varsity team. During the 2018 season, Allred wrestled in the 182 lbs weight class. He finished the 2018 season with a 28–1 record and went 3–0 before losing to Noah Cressell in the Indiana State Championships, finishing in 5th place. Allred gained some weight and was bumped to the 195 lbs weight class in 2019. As a junior, Allred went undefeated with a 35–0 record. Allred won all four matches in the 2019 Indiana State Championships, finishing with a win against Will Nunn. In 2020, Allred would go on to win 39 straight matches and a third trip to the Indiana State Championships. He would win all four matches to become a back-to-back state champion.

On National Signing Day in November 2019, Allred committed to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln under head coach Mark Manning.[1][2]

College

2020–21

Nebraska played an abbreviated 2020–21 season. In his two matches, he went 1–1, winning his first collegiate match against Iowa's Connor Corbin on January 15, 2021.[3]

2021–22

Allred was redshirted in the 2021–22 season. Allred would compile a 7–0 record. In the Daktronics Open, Allred wrestled unattached. He earned a technical foul in the quarterfinals and then a pin in the semifinals against No. 1 Yonger Bastida of Iowa State. He then pinned South Dakota State's Nick Casperson at 2:40.[4] Allred also competed unattached in the Hastings Open. In his first three matches, he won via falls. He finished things off after Augustana's Daniel Bishop medically forfeited.[5]

2022–23

In his redshirt freshman season in 2022–23, Allred went 23–5 in the regular season. In the Journeymen Collegiate Classic, Allred went 3–0, including a medical forfeit win in the finals, to win the 197-pound weight class.[6] Allred helped Nebraska win the Navy Classic title with an individual championship.[7] On February 6, Allred was named Big Ten Wrestler of the Week.[8] In Nebraska's final in-season competition, Allred finished in fifth place at the Cliff Keen Invitational, after going 4–2.[9]

He was awarded a first-round bye in the 2023 Big Ten Conference Championships as the No. 2 seed.[10] In the quarterfinals, Allred defeated Gavin Hoffman, 6–2.[11] Allred became the fifth Husker to qualify for the Big Ten finals after he defeated Zac Braunagel of Illinois, 4–3.[12] He would be matched up against No. 1 and former National champion, Max Dean. Allred was crowned the Big Ten champion after he scored a takedown in each of the three periods to defeat Dean, 6–3.[13]

Allred was given the No. 8 seed in the 2023 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships.[14] Allred defeated Michael Battista, 13–7, in the first round. In the second round, he was matched up against Max Dean, whom he had beaten in the Big Ten finals. Allred would win his match against Dean, 7–2.[15] Allred was handed his first career postseason loss after matching up against No. 1 seeded, Nino Bonaccorsi. The bout ended in a 5–3 decision.[16] Allred's season would end in a consolation loss in the Blood Round to Jacob Warner, 1–0.[17] Allred finished the season with a combined 28–7 record.
