Simón Jose Veras Veloz (born 19 March 2003) is a Dominican professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Moca,[1] and the Dominican Republic national under-20 team.

Career

Rochdale A.F.C.

In June 2019 Veras moved with his family to Rochdale, England, where he trialled with EFL League One side Rochdale. Veras was awarded a scholarship to stay with the club for two seasons where he started playing a few games with the U-18s in the Football League Youth Alliance and then due to his good performance was promoted to the U-21s to compete in The Central League. After 10 months, however, he was forced to leave England due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He returned to the Dominican Republic in March 2020.[2][3]

Atlético Vega Real

In July 2020 he joined Atletico Vega Real U-23 team in the Dominican Republic where he began to play professionally in the LDF Serie B (Dominican Republic Second Division) Veras went on to make sixteen appearances and score two goals that season.

Delfines Del Este (loan)

On March 7, 2021, Vega Real allowed Veras to join Delfines Del Este on an season-long loan to gain first team experience with the last season runners-up of the Liga Dominicana de Fútbol. That season he played 27 games scoring 3 goals for the U-23s and playing 4 games as a starter with the senior team. [4]

Moca FC

Veras returns to Atlético Vega Real where he plays 7 matches as a starter with the U-23s and playing 3 cup matches with the senior team.

In May of the same year his contract ended by mutual agreement with Vega Real to sign in summer transfer window for Moca.[5] Veras make his debut for Moca FC on 11 May 2022 against Club Barcelona Atlético Veras ends his season playing 13 games, starting 8 of them. In October 2022 Veras is invited to do an internship in Serbia with FK Vojvodina of the Serbian SuperLiga where he stayed until January 2023.
