Stephen Jacob Jimbangan or better known as Tuan Datuk Dr Stephen Jimbangan is a Malaysian politician from Sabah, Malaysia. He is a former Sabah Gagasan Rakyat Party candidate for the N25 State Legislative Assembly (DUN) of Kapayan, Sabah in the 14th General Election (GE). In addition, he is also the former Secretary General of the Sabah Gagasan Rakyat Party and held the position of 2nd president for the Sabah Gagasan Rakyat Party before being taken over by Hajiji Noor. He is very well known as the one of great leader in Kapayan Penampang because of his contribution.[2][3][4][1] In 2023, he was appointed as Deputy Secretary General for the Sabah Gagasan Rakyat Party with the party's Secretary General, Mohd Razali Razi.[5]

Career

He started his career as a politician in 2013 as an independent politician serving in Penampang. He was advised by the people of Kapayan to join the Democratic Action Party (DAP) after he contributed a lot in his area. However, after the establishment of the Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah by Dr. Ationg Tituh, he continued to join the local party to strengthen the stronghold of the local parties in the Penampang area. He ran on the ticket of the Democratic Action Party at the beginning of his political career. However, after the establishment of the Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah by Dr. Ationg Tituh, he sent a letter to join the local party to strengthen the stronghold of the local parties in the Penampang area and was immediately accepted.[4] He became the second president in 2021 replacing Ationg Tituh and then he was replaced by Hajiji Noor as the third president and became the Deputy Secretary General for the Sabah Gagasan Rakyat Party in 2023.[1][5]
