Story Ave is a 2023 American drama film directed and produced by Aristotle Torres and written by Torres and Bonsu Thompson. It is based on Torres' 2018 short film of the same name, which was based on a true story. It stars Asante Blackk, Melvin Gregg, Alex R. Hibbert, Coral Pena, Cassandra Freeman, Hassan Johnson and Luis Guzmán. Jamie Foxx serves as a producer.
The film had its world premiere at South by Southwest on March 11, 2023, and was released on September 29, 2023, by Kino Lorber.
Premise
A teenage graffiti artist runs away from home and robs an MTA worker, that changes their lives forever.

Production
In August 2022, it was announced Asante Blackk, Melvin Gregg, Alex R. Hibbert, Coral Pena, Cassandra Freeman, Hassan Johnson and Luis Guzmán had joined the cast of the film, with Aristotle Torres directing from a screenplay he wrote alongside Bonsu Thompson, and Jamie Foxx serving as a producer.[2]
Release
The film had its world premiere at South by Southwest on March 11, 2023.[3][4] In May 2023, Kino Lorber acquired distribution rights to the film.[5] It was released on September 29, 2023.[6]
Reception
On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 95% of 21 critics' reviews are positive, with an average rating of 7.60/10.[7] Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned the film a score of 66 out of 100, based on 9 critics, indicating "generally favorable" reviews.[8]
