Sun Haven is a 2023 farm life sim video game developed and published by Pixel Sprout Studios.[1]
Gameplay
Players control a character that has been on a train. After the character leaves the train, they enter Sun Haven, a town with a small community, and have some work to do including starting where to place the house which can be moved later.[2] This game contains dragons and bosses which can be defeated by the player. There are also three different settlements: Sun Haven, Nel'Vari and Withergate. The former is unlocked at the start while the rest requires going through the story and completing quests.
Development
It started as a crowdfunding campaign on September 2020. After that, the game entered early access on June 25, 2021. After about three years of development, the game was fully released on March 11, 2023, for PC.[3] The plan to release Sun Haven on the Nintendo Switch is underway.
Reception
Sun Haven is often compared to Stardew Valley and is considered one of the best farm sim games of 2023.[4]
The Gamer has said, "Sun Haven is an intricate and fun experience",[3] while Video Games on Sports Illustrated said that it is "a beautiful game".[5]
