Tribal Rain is a Nepali acoustic experimental band from Sikkim, India.[1][2] The band released their first album—Roka Yo Samay in 2017. Bhanai, Chinta and Narisawna are some of their popular songs.[3]
Formation and debut album
The band was formed in 2013 by Rahul Rai, Prawes Lama and few other former members. When Tribal Rain released their first album, the band consisted of late Rahul Rai on vocals/guitars, Kenneth Adhikari on keyboard, Prawes Lama on guitars and Sushant Ghatani on cajon.
They initially released a single titled—Chinta, which was followed by two other singles Bhanai and Narisawna. They then released an album titled—Roka Yo Samay in 2017, consisting of 11 tracks.[4]
Death of Rahul Rai

The music video of Bhanai was released on 13 February 2018. A day later on 14 February 2018, the lead vocalist Rahul Rai was found dead in an apparent suicide in his own residence in Namchi.[5][6][7] A documentary on the life of Rahul Rai was released on 14 April 2022.[8]
Second Album
In 2021, Tribal Rain officially released their second album Devi Deuta. It consists of 7 tracks including an instrumental. Unfortunately, only one of the tracks has been voiced by Rahul Rai due to his untimely and tragic death. Other tracks were covered by Benesh Thapa.
New Single
On 14th October 2022, Tribal Rain officially released a new single Sahara on YouTube.[9] They released it as a music video produced by Fuzz Factory Productions and under LiveAndLoud Records. It was released on what would have been Rahul Rai’s 33rd birthday.
