An untitled Indian Tamil-language psychological thriller film is being directed by A. L. Vijay and produced by Vithurs, Sudharsan Natesan and R. Ravindran under Ahimsa Entertainment and Trident Arts. The film stars R. Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut in the lead roles.

The film was announced in November 2023, untitled. Principal photography commenced the same month in Chennai. The film has music composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar and cinematography handled by Nirav Shah.

Development

In early June 2023, it was reported that R. Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut had signed a new film directed by Manthira Moorthy of Ayothi (2023) fame and produced by R. Ravindran under Trident Arts. Madhavan and Ranaut lastly collaborated in Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2015), which would make it a reunion after eight-years.[1] On 21 July, Ahimsa Entertainment and Trident Arts announced that they were collaborating for a pan-Indian film, and shoot would commence soon. The film was reported to feature Vijay Sethupathi and Ranaut in the lead role, while Vipindas would direct it.[2] However, On 18 November, Ahimsa Entertainment and Trident Arts officially announced the project, which features Madhavan and Ranaut in the lead role and is written and directed by A. L. Vijay, who is collaborating with Ranaut for the second time after Thalaivii (2021). Touted to be an psychological thriller, Vijay's frequent collaborators G. V. Prakash Kumar and Nirav Shah were retained.[3]

Filming

Principal photography commenced on 18 November 2023, with the first schedule in Chennai.[4] Rajinikanth had visited the set that day as his film Thalaivar 170 was filming in the set beside.[5]

Music

The music and background score is composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, in his ninth collaboration with Vijay; third with Madhavan after Evano Oruvan (2007) and the unreleased film Naan Aval Adhu.[6]
