Varniab (Persian: ورنياب, also Romanized as Varnīāb and Varnīyāb; also known as Vīāt)[3] is a village in, and the capital of, Ab-e Garm Rural District of the Central District of Sareyn County, Ardabil province, Iran.[4]
At the 2006 census, its population was 215 in 47 households, when it was in the former Sareyn District of Ardabil County.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 217 people in 70 households,[6] by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Sareyn County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with the city of Sareyn as its capital and only city.[7] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 247 people in 74 households.[2]
