José Maria de Carvalho Sales (3 December 1931 – 21 March 2021), known as Zé Maria, was a Brazilian footballer. He played in three matches for the Brazil national football team in 1959.[1] He was also part of Brazil's squad for the 1959 South American Championship that took place in Ecuador.[2] Zé Maria died on 21 March 2021, at the age of 89.[3]
