Zooom, legally Zexus Air Services, is[2] an Indian Commercial Airline based at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi.
History
Zoom Air was established in April 2013 by Zexus Air Services Pvt Ltd and the Indian civil aviation ministry issued it a No Objection Certificate in 2014.[3] In September 2016, the airline took delivery of its first aircraft, a Bombardier CRJ200.[4] Zoom Air received its air operator's certificate on 3 February 2017 and began operations on 15 February with a flight from Delhi to Durgapur via Kolkata.[5] As of March 2017, Zoom Air flew to seven destinations in India using two Bombardier CRJ200's.
In July 2018, the operating license of the airline was suspended by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) of India due to safety concerns.[6] All operations were suspended until 31 October 2019, when the airline restarted operation.[7]
Zooom on 14th September 2023 received its air operator certificate (AOC) from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to commence commercial passenger operations in India.[8]
Zooom planned to start commercial flights from the first week of January 2024 in the Delhi - Ayodha - Luckow - Ayodha - Delhi route[8] But as of 17 January 2024, the airline has not started operations.
Corporate affairs
Zooom is the brand name for Zexus Air Services. The company is headquartered in Gurugram,[9] and its chief executive officer is Atul Gambhir.[10][11] Zooom had been funded with Rs 20 crore equity.[12]
