Zora is an online platform dedicated to the buying, selling, and creation of NFTs.[1][2] Unlike other platforms, Zora lets creators make and sell their own NFTs.[3][4] The company was founded in 2020 by Jacob Horne, Dee Goens, and Tyson Batistella.[5][6][7] Over 4 million NFTs have been minted on Zora, with over 900,000 unique collectors, $300+ million in secondary sales, and $7.5 million as the current highest sale.[8][9]

In 2023, Zora launched Zora Network. It is the first chain built, launched, and designed by a team of NFT creators who also developed Protocol Rewards, a way for creators and developers to get paid for their work onchain. This is the first onchain platform to introduce a revenue split model that benefits creators.[10]

Funding

In 2022, Zora announced a $50M funding round led by Haun Ventures.[11] The round, valuing Zora at $600M, also included investments from Coinbase Ventures, Kindred Ventures, and more.[12] This was the first fundraising round led by Katie Haun's firm, Haun Ventures.
