三碘化镅是一种浅黄色的离子化合物，由Am³⁺和I⁻离子组成。它是三方晶系的，空间群 R3 (No. 148)，晶格参数 a = 742 pm和c = 2055 pm。它的晶体结构和碘化铋同构。[3][2]
