閃蝶屬（學名：Morpho）是蛺蝶科眼蝶亞科閃蝶族中的一個屬。閃蝶又名摩爾福蝶、摩爾浮蝶、燦蝶、大藍蝶等。共有30個物種，以翅面華麗的閃藍色著名，飛行時閃爍的藍色奪目非常，因此受到蝴蝶收藏家珍視。

分佈

閃蝶分佈於新熱帶界，即南北美洲內的熱帶地區。主要在南美洲，少數物種向北分佈至墨西哥及美國南部。

形態

閃蝶普遍為大型蝶類，展翅可寬達20厘米[2]。觸角細長，約為前翅長度的三分之一。眼上無毛。腹部短，雄前足跗節上長毛。

外型上出現兩性異形。雄蝶翅膀背面常反射出華麗耀眼的金屬藍色，前翅頂角黑色或白色；雌蝶則以黃色和黑色為主。兩性後翅中室皆為開式。翅膀腹面褐色，常有大大小小的眼斑，這外觀也乎合眼蝶科的特徵。

卵半球狀。幼蟲細長，呈圓柱形，中部稍大，有毛，飾有明亮的紅褐、黃褐、黑褐斑紋，警告色用作阻嚇天敵。蛹為懸蛹，頭部和翅部有許多突起。

習性

成蟲於日間活動，在熱帶雨林出沒，如亞馬遜原始森林，也適應如尼加拉瓜乾燥落葉林和次生林林地。飛行迅速而敏捷。雄性特別活躍，具領域性，在明媚的陽光下經常相互追逐，翅膀反射出的藍光向其他雄蝶表示其領域範圍。不好訪花，卻會吸食墜落果實，糞便等汁液。

幼蟲的寄主植物為雙子葉植物中的豆科植物，會從寄主中吸取毒素。如果他們受到干擾，便會釋出臭的化學物質，可以阻嚇捕食者。

閃蝶曾視作獨立一科，又曾歸入環蝶的一類，視今閃蝶是眼蝶科中的一屬。與眼蝶科其他物種不同的是，牠們幼蟲時期的寄主為雙子葉植物而不是單子葉植物[3]。

文化

在精靈寶可夢系列中，一種寶可夢摩魯蛾的日文名稱（^Morufon）是取自此屬之學名。

在假面騎士555中，片頭曲部份曾出現一隻折斷翅膀的大藍閃蝶（學名：Morpho menelaus)，象徵著（オルフェノク/Orphnoch）的誕生及消逝，另外在假面騎士4號中最後修卡首領變身時周圍也有藍色閃蝶包圍着。
