Azamgarh Airport is an underconstruction airport at Manduri Village outside of Azamgarh city, near Kuan Devchand Patti, in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.[1] It is being developed by upgrade of the existing government airstrip.[1][2] The existing airstrip can support aircraft weighing up to 5,700 kg (12,600 lb) with a runway of 1,400 by 23 metres (4,593 by 75 ft).
Proposed destination
On 11 January 2023, while flagging off the first Indigo direct flight from Ayodhya Dham[3] to Ahmedabad[4] Union Aviation Minister Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia Said that Azamgarh Airport along with other 4 Airports Aligarh, Moradabad, Chitrakoot and Shravasti in Uttar Pradesh will be inaugurated in upcoming one month.
As per sources, Lucknow, Delhi and Mumbai is the only destination that is proposed for direct flight from this airport under the Regional Connectivity Scheme UDAN.[5]
