Boudreville (French pronunciation: [budʁəvil]) is a commune in the Côte-d'Or department in eastern France, in which the forest nearby (Le Bois de Fée) has a large population of boar, deer, and other animals. Rumour has it that this area was once inhabited by Gaulish and Roman people. Boudreville became a makeshift hospital during WWW2, where it would receive primarily American and French soldiers. In WW2, it was occupied by the Germans. During this time, Janine Michatlou Garnier reported that all the villagers of Boudreville were aligned and at two fingers from being exterminated by the SS. However, a German officer rushed in his motorcylce and stopped the massacre. Today, Boudreville is a peaceful village .
