Eshkanan (Persian: اشكنان), also Romanized as Ashkanan and Eshkanān; also known as Īshkanān and ‘Ishqanān; formerly Sodabgerd (سودابگرد),[3] is a city in, and the capital of, Eshkanan District of Lamerd County, Fars province, Iran, and also serves as the administrative center for Eshkanan Rural District.[4]
At the 2006 census, its population was 7,513 in 1,516 households.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 8,211 people in 1,946 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 9,115 people in 2,406 households.[2]
