Ginger Johnson is the stage name of Donald Marshall,[2] an English drag queen and winner of series 5 of RuPaul's Drag Race UK.

Biography

Ginger Johnson was born in Lanchester, County Durham, in the late 1980s.[1] She began doing drag in the late 2000s and in 2014 she joined Sink the Pink and wrote, directed and co-produced several of their theatre productions, including: "Down the Rabbit Hole", "The Queen's Head" (for Selfridges), How to Catch a Krampus and Escape from Planet Trash.[3][4][5][6] Ginger Johnson also performs and hosts various club events.[7][8][9] In 2020, she co-presented the online breakfast show Wakey! alongside Love Island contestant Chris Taylor.[10][11]

In 2023, Ginger Johnson became the winner of the fifth series of RuPaul's Drag Race UK. She has described herself as "a helium balloon in the shape of a woman" and her drag as "silly" and "camp".[12][13] During her time on the show, she impersonated Barbara Cartland for the Snatch Game challenge.[14]
