Victoria Scone (born 6 April 1993) is the stage name of Emily Diapre, a British drag queen and cabaret performer based in Cardiff, Wales. She is best known for competing on the third series of RuPaul's Drag Race UK in 2021, where she was the first cisgender female contestant on any series of the Drag Race franchise. She returned to compete in Canada's Drag Race: Canada vs. the World in 2022.[3]
Career
Diapre is a professionally-trained actor, singer and dancer.[4] Prior to becoming a full-time drag performer, Diapre worked as a sales and events coordinator.[4] She chose the stage name Victoria Scone because she wanted "something very British." "I wanted something edible, being a curvaceous woman as I am. It's also a pun as in 'Where's Victoria? Victoria's gone!'"[4]
Diapre competed in the third series RuPaul's Drag Race UK, she was the first cisgender female competitor on any season of the Drag Race franchise.[1][5][6] She had been doing drag for approximately three years when she competed on the show.[7][8] She placed in the top 2 in the first episode, however she withdrew from the show on the third episode after partially tearing her anterior cruciate ligament during her top 2 lip sync for the win with Krystal Versace.[9]
Diapre later returned to compete on Canada's Drag Race: Canada vs. the World against former contestants from across the Drag Race franchise, including fellow RuPaul's Drag Race UK series three alum Vanity Milan. During her time in the competition, she placed in the Top 2 three times and was never up for elimination, making it to the finale. She later lost her lip-sync against season winner Ra'Jah O'Hara in the first round of the finale Lip-Sync for the Crown tournament, ultimately tying for third place with fellow competitor Rita Baga.
Personal life
Diapre is based in Cardiff.[1] On Drag Race UK, she discussed a previous struggle with bulimia nervosa.[10] She is a lesbian who uses she/her pronouns and they/them pronouns in and she/her pronouns out of drag.[11][12] During the airing of the finale of Canada vs. the World in December 2022, Scone proposed to her girlfriend, Dani; however, she revealed three months later, in March 2023, that the two have since separated.[13]
