Mughar (Persian: موغار, also Romanized as Mūghār; also known as Moghār and Moqār)[3] is a village in Garmsir Rural District of Mahabad District, Ardestan County, Isfahan province, Iran.

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 1,272 in 340 households, when it was in the Central District.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 1,071 people in 323 households.[5] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 1,139 people in 385 households. It was the largest village in its rural district.[2]

In April of 2023, Garmsir and Hombarat Rural Districts, and the city of Mahabad were separated from the district in the establishment of Mahabad District, with the city as its capital.[6]
