Shamsuddin Turk Shah Wilayat Panipati (1259–1413) was a Sufi saint of Chishty and Qadiriyya order who was a mureed and only Khalifa of Makhdoom Alauddin Sabir Kaliyari. Panipati took the oath of allegiance to Khwaja Fariduddin Ganjshakar.[1]
Early life
Panipati was born in 1259 in Turkestan in the family of direct descendants of Muhammad, the last Prophet of Islam.[2][3]
Influence
His Urs is celebrated on the 9th of Jumadil Akhir.[4][5][6][7][8] It is known, when Alauddin Khilji was unable to win over Raja Ratan Singh Man for long then Panipati prayed Allah for the victory of Khilji and then Khilji won the Battle.[9][10] He is buried in Panipat, Haryana.[11] His mureed and followers use to add 'Shamsi' to their names.[3] Panipati had announced Shaikh Jalal as his spiritual successor.[12]
