At the 2006 National Census, its population was 168 in 44 households, when it was in the former Golbahar District of Chenaran County).[6] The following census in 2011 counted 186 people in 61 households.[7] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 230 people in 66 households.[2]
In August 2019, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Golbahar County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with the city of Golbahar as its capital.[4]
